Okay, I'm about ready to tackle my Sanyo monitor issue. But, before I finally do it, what's a snap cap? Something special I should know when getting this filter cap? Is there a type of 470uf 160v I should NOT get?

A snap cap simply has a couple of blade like terminals at the top of the cap for you to run leads to (or snap into place if there is a socket for it). Typically you find them to replace some of the older and larger axial caps (at least that's what I run into). A filter cap on a monitor board... you'll have to put the leads at the top and run a wire to the holes in the board to get it to work..but it should work no problem

just dont get those leads too hot when you are soldering.

too hot and that heat can damage the capacitor.

i try to do it in 3-4 seconds at the most...
