i now have 3 4600 monitors that all have the same prob. either the left or right side...( vertical mounted).....flare out and get bigger. i'm gettin rdy to do cap kits on 2 of them. didn't figure this was a prob with the daughter cards but a prob on the main board. was just wondering where this prob originates and what to do to fix it??

They X/Y card controls the horizontal and vertical, so if you are having problems with the size or shape, I'd suggest looking at them first. If you are describing pincushioning or keystoning, then there is a small transformer on the main chassis that might affect that (especially cold solder joints)...

here is a pic from the pac i just picked up. this monitor is by far the least warped of the 3 but you can still see the prob on the right side at both the top and bottom.

Start with a COMPLETE cap kit to start. Also, Ms. Pac doesn't like sharing a cab with Pac art, so she's being a bitch to you...

The "pincushion/keystone" problem originates with electrolytic capacitor C614 (33 uf @ 25 volts) on the main board. This is the capacitor that gets installed leaning over to the right so that it clears the hor/ver board when it's plugged in.
