make sure that your ground wires that are soldered to the neck board does not have cold solder joints. If you are not sure remove them and re-solder them.

ok, how many grounds are supopose to be on the neck and locations on the neck. i had to put together a chassis from two that were broken. one had a neck board broken in half and the other had a broken main board. the grounds on the two neck boards were a little differnt.

ok resoldered the ground, still the same, maybe i will go with the rejuve. unless i should try somthing else. i only use the rejuve as a last resort.

Raster lines = overdriven. One color = bad channel. My bet is a color drive transistor or a gun going bad.

Get a jumper with clips. Desolder one leg of each color channel resistor directly feeding the tube pins. Use the jumper to send the signal for Red -> blue, Red -> green, Green -> red, Green -> blue Blue -> red, Blue -> green. Also check H-KG, H-KB, H-KR for shorts between the heater and any of the colors. This will tell you if it's in the board or the tube and where the problem lies.

Went through a similar diagnosis last year, perhaps this will help.

Rejuvenators can tell you a lot without having to rejuvenate or even remove a monitor from the game.

IMHO Not testing the tube with your rejuvenator until a last resort is BAD Practice.

ok thanks for the tip. this will only be number 3 tube i am testing/working on. when the tube is working the way it should the picture looks great. what readings should i look out for on the rejuve????

Your individual color gun readings will either be in the good range or the bad range or shorted. All of which you will be able to see when it is on test.

ok i zapped it. all the guns were in red or very close to being in the red.all the guns are reading in well in to the green now. i got a great pic now with just a slight flicker of green randomly.

Nice pic you have now.

Look at all of the time you wasted chasing your tail, when just hooking the tube up to a rejuver told you exactly what the problem was.

Sometimes the "KISS" method is the best way to go.
