Guys,

I've got a 4600 that I just cap kitted and the picture keeps rolling vertically. I've tried two other known working Hor/Vert cards and they do the same, so I don't think it's on the H/V card.

I admit that I did accidentally at first put in a standard polarized 2.2uF @ 50V cap for C633. I thought that might be the problem, but I just put in the correct BP / HF cap and it still rolls. Did I blow something with the polarized cap?

Any ideas? Any help appreciated...thanks!!!

Is this being bench tested, or was it already in this game you have and you just "fixed" it? Sounds like you have the negative vertical sync connected when it shouldn't be. Either that, or you have the wrong interface card in it for the game your are connecting...

It's in a Ms. Pac, the original monitor. So I'm pretty sure it's got the right cards. And I've tried every possible configuration of attaching the sync wires. Plus, I hooked up another 4600 from my shelf and it worked perfectly hooked up the same way. Then took both of the cards from the working monitor and put them on the non-working one - no change. The vertical hold just keeps rolling.

Adjusting the long black vertical hold knob does make a slight change, but just changes from rolling very fast to very very fast. Adjusting the other knobs don't make a difference.

I'm certain the problem is not on the small cards but on the main chassis. I'm wondering if I ordered the wrong C633s? This is a new batch I just got from mouser and maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Does C633 have to do with vertical hold?

Thanks for trying to help me...I appreciate it!

Oh, and I just saw in another thread that you fix 7000s for other people. Do you work on sanyos too for other people? what's the rate?

thanks,
John

Right now I'm doing K7000's, G07's, K4600's, K4900's, K7400/U2000/U5000's, and K6100's. I'm considering doing K7500's, 20EZ's, and maybe a few others, but I haven't decided yet. I have to go through my tubes/yokes and see what all I have for testing. I can test 20EZ's, but don't know if I want to put them on the list until after I finish getting organized...
