I recently bought some #44-4 leds bulbs from cointaker and i was getting ready to install in one of my machines.I put the led in the socket and as soon as i twisted the led to secure in the socket the top of the led CAME OFF!! at first i thought it was a bad led but come to find out all the 4leds were doing the same thing. What a waste!!! The best leds are the ultra brights they cost more but they awesome and worth it.Anyone else had the same problem?

I haven't used the four LED #44 bulbs from Cointaker, but I've used a lot of their frosted and clear #44 bulbs. I've often had bulbs where the blob of lead on the base is too large and when you try to turn the bulb to install it, you run the risk of loosening the glue and breaking the wires and the top off. It seems like the worst offenders have been the #44 warm white frosted. I end up filing down the lead until the bulb rotates and installs easily.

Maybe your bulbs weren't glued right in the first place, but I've messed up a couple that were glued just because I tried to force it. This shouldn't happen, and I shouldn't have to file the lead down to make the bulb work. But I've decided to make due and live with it. I probably need to try bulbs from a different vendor to see if there are any similar issues.

Anyway, try contacting Cointaker. Hopefully they'll make it right and take care of you.

I've had the same problem with their LEDs, several times on different kinds.
Even on the expensive high power thingies, so I always order extras

But I've never tried anyone else, so I don't know if it's standard

This has been my experience as well. In fact, I twisted the top off three of them last night while trying to install them in my SoF. Overall, I'm happy with Cointaker's LEDs, but I think I'm going to give Terry's a try in the next pin I do.

Terry at PinballLife is where to go for great quality LED's.

This is my conclusion regarding LED's and who to buy from...

any 555 style I buy from Terry at Pinball life because they aren't polarized and just seem to fit more snugly.

for GI I purchase the 44 bulbs from cointaker. I really like cointaker but I agree that I've had a few issues with breakage. I put some super warm white in my bad cats and it looks excellent.

Same happened to two people I know, both with 44/47 bulbs. Contact CT back and tell them what happened.

I use CT 555 in my machines and have never had an issue with CT LEDs. 44/47 can also have base issues as some manf were a mill or two off, thus would not fit in the sockets.
