42 new entries tonight, 41 of them KLOV videogame entries..

Good to know. Could you make an announcement when this has been accomplished for those of us who have submitted photos over a year ago in case we need to submit them again?

Also, I would like to see a pic of something that says "This was a kit release only, and could be in any cabinet type" for such games. Nothing like looking up Arkanoid and seeing a converted Return of the Jedi cabinet....

This goes with the request to have a field specifying cabinet types for KLOV entries. So for a game that came out as Conversion Kit, you'd see that type listed in the cabinet types field and realize that the cabinet in the entry was a conversion. You could simply link one of the cabinet types to the image.

The nice thing about adding cabinet types to the KLOV entries is that your VAPS entry could be driven off of that data. So if you added Arkanoid to your VAPs list, you'd only be able to select "Conversion Kit", "Conversion", and "Board-Only" (which would still be a default option). The same data could be used in other ways. For example, you'd be able to tell who in VAPS has an Environmental DOT vs an upright DOT, or Periscope version of Battlezone vs Open face vs cabaret.

But granted that's a bit of work overall to make that upgrade.

So where do you go to add entires? I click on the contribute link then go to add a new game and it says that submissions were taken off-line on Sept. 3rd 2009.

It is kind of cool to see those Russian games though, since few in the Western world knew about them in the day.

I have a Russian guy installing HVAC in my gameroom building currently and I wanted to see if he was familiar with this Gorodki game since he lived there until 96. I'll ask him about it when he comes back to continue the work on Friday, but in the meantime I did a little googling and came across this Russian site about Russian arcade games. When will we see these in mame? :)
