Is there any difference between plastic and ceramic packaged RAM?(any type)

Supposedly the ceramic packaged ones are more durable?...and a bit more expensive!

Given a choice, is it worth spending more for the ceramic packaged RAM?

or are they both much the same quality?

Just go for either, makes no difference really. These for a Williams?

Ceramic chips have a higher temperature rating. Other than that there is not much difference. The price of ceramic vs plastic is usually around 4x.

you are much better off using 4164s modded to work in a 4116 socket.

Check out this "how to" from KLOV'R Mattosborn:

http://arcarc.xmission.com/Tech/TECH_ Replacing 4116 RAM with 4164, 41256, etc_.txt

a couple of KLOV'Rs like Riptor have 4164s for sale on their websites at a reasonable price.

I like this idea too. Cheap, easy and saves power and heat. I think it was Clay that came up w/ this easy to follow design.
