I'm pretty big into Frogger and I have it in a generic cabinet. I ordered a Scramble board and a couple buttons and new joysticks to swap in and out of my Frogger machine, and I was wondering how Scramble would play using a 4-way joystick. Would the diagonals not register?

I see that they make a 4-way/8-way joystick that you can swap back and forth on the fly. Would that be my best course of action?

I ordered a 4-way and an 8-way joystick, but if Scramble works fine with a 4-way joystick, I may just not even worry about the 8-way. But if you guys say that I need the 8-way to play it properly, I may have to buy that adjustable joystick.

Anyway, thoughts? I'm a noob, and I apologize for a possible ridiculous question!

I've got the Mag-Stik Plus on my 60-in-1 and I love it. 4-way/8-way switchable from the top of the panel. Definitely worth the money to not have to reach in the coin door to change it. Right now it has the bat-stick handle but I'm going to order one of the ball-top handles soon. (edit) but apparently I won't be ordering it from Ultimarc considering shipping is more expensive than the stick. (/edit)

The one on the top of this page...

I think I may also have one of the J-stik 4/8 way switchables in a box downstairs. You have to reach through the coin door to rotate the thing that changes 4 to 8 but it's a great joystick.

as long as you are a very bad player at scramble it will probably be ok.

lol

if you want to play this game and advance through any stage it MUST be an 8 way stick.
