4 separate Nintendo (Sanyo 20EZV) chassis with 4 different problems
I have 4 20EZV chassis with 4 different problems not directly addressed by the flowchart.
1) Powers up but only blue shows (is rendering graphics fine, just all blue) and hints of edges of other colors. Blue fog across entire screen (almost like a H/K short but is not). Tried 2 different tubes, exactly the same results. Board was broken during shipping, a 2" diagonal break by the input just below that and diagonal up below the vacant chip socket spot. About 11 traces broken but only 5 went to another component (vs. the empty spots in that corner). Fixed the 5 traces but perhaps something else is bad? However turning the screen control up to 100% still only shows blue with retrace lines, so I"d think the input section has nothing to do with it.
2) Powers up and swore I saw an instant of very bright screen with vertical then horizontal collapse (but went so fast, I can't tell and couldn't believe it would have 'warmed up' so fast so perhaps it was something else) followed by huge sparking by the exposed top back pin leading into the screen pot assembly. Unplugging could hear HV dissappating.
3) When plugged in, no HV crackle or 15.75Khz frequency audible, but the 300ma mini fuse is actually GLOWING a nice low orange (like a 12V lamp running on 6 volts). VERY strange--didn't blow the fuse. Nothing else visual or audible.
4) Totally dead, no HV, no nothing. Person I bought from had tried a few things too a few years ago and didn't get far.
Haven't had a chance to meter things yet. Any suggestions as to next steps on these would be appreciated!
Anyone with a tested, fully working one or two available? Anyone want to trade 4 NW for 2 W ???
Thanks
