My friend john and I went in on a set of DK boards and we each got two a piece. Anyway, I took some videos of what they're doing if anyone cares to take a look at them and give me an idea of what to look for. The pots need replaced on EVERY ONE of them.

Ok first board set is a 4 board cocktail. I tried it in an upright DK JR. This one needs pots of course but in the video you can see a scrambled screen and them when i hold the pots to make contact it stops. Anyone know what this problem could be? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKSVI3MUPYI

This board set which I named DK board C just has random numbers and things on the screen, it was also tested with the videoboard of DK board A because its video board was missing a pot. It wont coin up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqPhwVJHluA

DK board B coins up but will not do anything else. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqQHIBEV9Sk

DK board A is the closet to working but still have major issues. The first video is before I wiggled the broken pots so they at least made contact. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NmsWNKdFrs The second video is the game after I wiggled the pots http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbSZIz2SS-w This video is the rivet level http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE1bLEN_-d0 and this video is the elevators level http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg350dupF3A If you watch the last video on the initials screen i go through the letters and you can see where the cursor or mario or the barrels would diasppear. I have no idea what it can be. Its also missing some sounds.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention game board B or C has DKjr labeled roms so I'm sure thats not good, lol. I think its the one with all the numbers all over the screen but I cant remember for sure.

On the 4 board set are all the boards getting power? The 2 board sets require the 9 and 10 pin power cables, the 4 board need the 9,10 and 7 pin to work. - Barry

Yeah there wasnt a 7 pin connector to connect to what i would guess was the sound board. Its the smallest board on top of the stack. So it wont work without trying it in a cocktail or buying a harness?

Update.. We have 2 working cpu boards and a working video board. Also we have another video with a bunch of garbage on the screen. It shows the girders, then like ladders and numbers and junk, then girders again and then junk again and its in the same pattern as in the video of DK boards A in the youtube videos. Actually I think its is board A and we might have swapped something off of it, I cant remember, I shouldve labled them. The other boardset has dkjr roms and 2 DK roms so I dont know what to do about that. It was just a cobbled together mess from what I can tell. Anyway, now with the 2 working boards, the only sounds are the pounding and mario running and jumping, thats it. Theres no music, no grin, no points collecting, none of that. We checked the pots at VR1 and it doesnt have any, it has pots on VR2 and they checked out fine. It doesnt look like it ever had a pot on VR1. But both CPU boards are doing it. Could it be that they need pots on VR1? Thanks for any help. I'm dying to play some DK but at least I can play it now minus the sound. I was really happy to get 2 of them working so far.

Bumping an old thread - my 4 board DK stack is exhibiting the same sound problems. Walking, jumping, girder pounding sounds all there, but music, points collecting, dying sounds all missing.

Did you ever figure this out? Just thought I'd ask before I start swapping boards to get this stack working.

Thanks!
