3DS thread

This one is a joke. Pretty much took NSMB and added millions of gold coins. I refer to it as NSMB 1.5 because it feels like you're just playing a bunch of bonus stages. It's definitely not a true sequel IMO.

This is sad to hear... I'll still play it.

I just have this thing against starting a second game on the same console when I have yet to finish another game I'm actually really in to (Tales of the Abyss, in this case)

Yeah, I'll put it this way, it's not a BAD game, but it's a little misleading when they slap a "2" on it and charge $40 like it's a brand new game. The same thing happened when Mario Galaxy 2 came out. Not a bad game, actually a great game, but not a new game by any means. But it's common knowledge they use the same engine, make some adjustments, slap a "2, 3, etc." on it and milk it for all its worth (Ex. Mario Party).

I got it at K-Mart a few months back when they were running a sale on Mario 3DS games... $29.99, and then I had a coupon for $10 off a $30 purchase. So I bought two Mario games and got them for around $25 each.

Animal crossing is probably the biggest example, apparently the Wii version is just a rehashed DS version, I played the DS version extensively but eventually the hackers made it unbearable. This is one franchise where the GC version is the most superior one since they took out holidays for both the Wii and DS versions.

YUP shame on Nintendo. My friend bought it for his 6 year old son. His son says "Why is it the same?"

They announced Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. So basically a Wii version of Donkey Kong Country ported to 3DS. Ugh. Pass.

It's the unique, new titles that always bring me back. Looking forward to Luigi's Mansion, the eventual Zelda 3DS, Smash Bros. 3DS, Metroid 3DS, etc.

Pokemon X/Y as mentioned looks very promising since it won't be the same mold as the last dozen handheld Pokemon games.

Pokemon is the same game each time I will say that about it but at least they change the game world, new towns, new Pokemon etc. also with wifi you don't need to buy both versions to get all the Pokemon. So its basically the same battle system and core gameplay in each game. It's not the exact same game though with just a single new feature added (like more coins). Pokemon X/Y should be a nice change. I just wish they would make a decent pokemon console game, the last one was Pokemon XD.
