Nintendo announced that the 3DS will launch in Japan on Feb. 26 in black and blue for the equivalent of about $300. No word yet on the North American launch.

$300??? Dude, that sucks. I knew it would be more expensive, but more than the Wii? Unfortunately, I'm going to have to get it anyways. :D

That doesn't necessarily mean it will launch here for $300. I sure hope it will be less. Although, like you, I will have to get one (or two) anyway. Between me and my wife we have six DSs.

Dang... That is a high price.

Most of the time, the prices aren't too different between Japan and US.

I will end up with one, too, but at that price, it may take me a while longer.

That's true. It may be a bit more expensive there. I would think it would be the same price as the Wii. Though, I can see them launching at a 249.99 price.

that video made me more excited... I hope the graphics and gameplay are that smooth when it's in action.

one of the things that bothers me the most is when they show demo "gameplay" and it's all high res and crisp, then you get it on the system only to find it has jaggies all over (PSP)

If I played handhelds even half as much as I did a couple of years ago, I'd be all over this on day one for $300. If it is $300 or so, though, I will likely be waiting for a bit.

Either way, I really want to check it out.

im buying one hands down first day, preorders are great cause you can ease your mind by using it like lay away LOL.

Can not wait. super excited. I hear the 3d is amazing on the units that were at E3 and those werent final production.

I would really like to get one... but I have a few issues with it. First of all $300.00 is alot for a handheld system. I'm also worried about the 3-d feature. I cant watch 3-d movies because they give me a major headache for some reason.

Then theres the fact that nintendo will go on to release one million versions of this system. I would rather have one with a larger screen if thats whwat they will be doing. Thaat being said I would really love to play mario kart 3d s. I will most likely end up with one at some pint but I think it will be a good while.

$300 is a deal breaker for me.

A bit more expensive than their current models; yeah, no brainer. Twice as expensive? No.

I saw and played the 3DS at E3 and it was nothing less than amazing. I will be in line day one to pick one up also. It will be a hard to find months after launch, mark my words :)

Is that right? Very interesting to hear that. I was under the impression that it would be more of a gimmick and not be anything too impressive. Of course I am hopeful because I love Nintendo.

Read the other day that the US price will be $250.

That's still pretty damned expensive.

Preordered this morning on Amazon. Can't wait!

As far as I can tell, none of the games are up for preorder yet.
