I'm willing to bet that filter board is the issue. You can also check continuity in the trace for the gas pedal wire on the filter board coming in and out as well.

It does have a roller on it I don't know if it's the right switch for that or notAnd ensure you're using the same type of microswitch. It's not a typical switch. Has a long arm whixh hooks at the end and most likely has a small roller I believe.

That's what I did I got two of them and they both do the exact same thing and they're both Japanese versionsIt could be a fault with the PCB possibly. If you can get your hands on another board, it would be worth trying. I can't think of anything else that would cause the issue. The wiring in this game is pretty straight forward.
I went straight off the PBC harness to the switch on the pedal. With the sit down you know it's about 6 ft a wireHopefully you can find a fix for your pedal issue. I know the game very well and cannot think of what the issue can be, especially since you said you've done all the tests that come to mind.

In test modeI-o error
The only time it goes in to the io error with the color plateau screen is if I plug the coin door in if I unplug it it'll go right to the game and I can play it but the gas pedal don't workIt's stuck in test mode. Can you get it out of test mode?
