Yup, and that usually does not end well.

Yep. And -if- I end up with the lot, I'll be having a sale on here before they leave CA. But the pricing won't be as simple as 1/32 of the total ;)

Wow, $1600 for Penske? I rented a 24ft with a car hauler 1 way (850 miles) and insurance early this year for right at $900. You request a quote, and a lot of times they'll call you back and give you a much lower price. I don't know Maybe renting a Penske in CA doubles the price?

It depends on how bad the seller needs the money and if there is a way of writing the loss off. If he bought this using a business he might be able to write it off.

I don't think he would seriously take $5k for these but you never know. Stranger things have happened.

Ok I ran my best guess for how much I think they would sell for individually in California and the total came to less than $11,000. That's if I they sold at what I would consider relatively high prices.

That's a lot of work transporting and possibly repairing games in addition to all the advertising and time spent showing them to potential customers to make it worth while unless they can be picked up for at least half that amount. IMO.

I could post my guesses on individual prices but I know everyone would disagree. :)

You can PM them to me. I'd be interested in seeing your thoughts on them.

Oh what the heck. This could be a fun game to see where I screwed up. I don't claim to be an expert on pricing but this is just based on my experience in Northern California. A few titles I don't know much about so they are WAG's. But I think for the most part these are optimistic.

I think your prices are about right for what most KLOVers would pay. I can generally do better, but I go through and restore them as much as possible and sell them on CL. Most KLOVers think my prices are high, but I mostly sell to the non-collector that wants a home machine and doesn't know anything about working on them and wants it in good condition with a warranty and someone that will support it down the road.

I also have to often wait upwards of a year for them to sell as it takes time for the right buyer coming along....

Yes, I'm sure with patience you can get higher prices. My estimates were for fully working machines in cosmetically nice but not restored condition. And assuming I was trying to sell on CL. If you have someplace to store them that isn't costing you money then you can afford to take let your inventory sit much longer.

I've sold them for more, seen a few go for less but that looks like pretty accurate pricing to me for quick sale. Most I'd probably go is in the 7.5k range I'd say to make the work worthwhile and keep a few for yourself.

Only thing I disagree with is Rush the Rock. I had trouble getting $400 each when I was selling mine. You might be able to get $1000 or more for a pair, but selling just one is tough.

So, is anyone on here bidding on it?

I was strongly considering it, but with the transportation costs back to TX, the current bid of $7700 makes it too cost prohibitive based on what I could sell the machines for after shopping them to make a decent profit.

Yes, that was a decent deal. Sell off the titles you don't want and you have a solid collection. I wonder if someone parted all that stuff out what it would be worth...
