$30 Craiglist bartop

Forr some reason I have always wanted a bartop. I found one on CL not too long ago for $30. He said it didn't work and it had a Moon Patrol PCB.

When I got to pick it up he can't find the PCB - no big deal - I wanted the cab anyway. I get it home and it turns out the monitor is pristine with no burnin and works great. The monitor was mounted vertically so I have my doubts it was actually a Moon Patrol PCB in there. I'm curious now what PCB it was though.

Now I have to figure out what to do with this thing. It has a joystick, 2 buttons and 2 start buttons. I could put the monitor vertically or horizontally - either fits. I'm tempted to do a spinner on it and make it an Arkanoid II since both my daughter and me like Arkanoid type games. I could put a V multigame JAMMA in there. Not sure.

Any suggestions?

Where is the joystick? Is it behind the pen holder?

Yeah - the joystick is definitely odd. But - it has to be small so it doesn't stick up in front of the screen. The stick seems to be in good shape - I'll probably leave it. Not sure what to do about graphics, etc. Maybe paint it black? Add art on the sides and CP? Not sure yet

Ya, totally put a 60 in 1 board in there. I was going to buy one of those for that very reason at an auction a couple of months ago, but the damn thing went up to $95, and I didn't even know if it worked! I just thought it would be an awesome conversation piece and with a 60 in 1 in it, it would get a lot of use as well.

i agree neo geo with a 100 in one cart or a mame rig
you will get more bang for you buck that way
