Auction Starts: 10:00 am / Preview: 8:30am
2224 Waycross Road
Cincinnati, Ohio 45231

Please plan to attend this auction with large amount from a large southern Arcade Company that reduced operations and other Family Entertainment Centers. This auction should be packed with a great selection and even a nice selection of classics. All machines are plugged in during the live auction.

who is planning on going?

funny im picking up a new trailer that weekend in cincinnati and I was going to start searching cl for stuff to buy...no need for cl junk now! I will be there :)

yikes...just realizing that between the buyers premium and sales tax, you are looking at an extra 19% on top of whatever you bid. That's pretty harsh.

I'd like to go...one downside is my Pilot has an odd hook-up for the electrical on a trailer. Basically, I need to buy a special part (not cheap) in order to haul games. If I make the drive, I need to find an economical way to get the games home.

Just FYI I went to the last one... Tax + Auction fees are expensive on top of purchase price... His auctions are not "No Reserve" and he will pass on games he thinks he can sell for at a different location for more. He is SLOW too.. if you see a list of something you like numbered 255 you have plenty of time to get there. Just my experience... I wouldnt go back unless I saw something listed I really wanted.

Do you mean he simply skips over an item or lets folks bid on it and then decides that it is going too cheap and says "not for sale"?

He will only take the starting bid so low. I've noticed on most driving games he will go down to $350-$400 and "Pass" if no one bids. I would never go to one of his auctions again.

Yup he will just pass at a certain number. You could even try and get the bidding going by saying "$50" and we will tell you that "he has to eat too" or something dumb and will not accept your bid. So even though it says no reserve auction he will just pass or sell it to his tech. Even broken games he would not take a 50 dollar bid.

The other thing to look out for is he also purposely up bids people. For example you may be at $200 and he will look around the room and say $300 then look back at you and tell you that you are at 250... its a total con and if you are not listening he will charge you more than your bid. I saw people argue with him that they were at a lower price and then he agrees.

Very Shady

Yup, I've been bidding online before, was the high bidder, and he kept stalling...almost begging a shilling buddy, to raise the price.

Just my 2 cents I think micheal the auctioneer is a dick but not shady. He won't sell working stuff stupid cheap like AGS. But a lot of pins and a rush 2049 sold cheap the last time. By far not my favorite auction but I don't believe he's shady.

I won't mind trying and selling a game or two....I wonder what the commission is on the sale of games? Part of me thinks that it makes zero sense to try and sell a few one off games if the crowd is mostly experienced collectors versus the average guy on the street.

I guess the situation I experienced where he would try to purposely up bid people just seemed shady to me... but maybe this is a common practice with auctioneers as I do not go to many.

Either way I just want to give a heads up to fellow KLOVERs to make sure you pay attention to your bid and the progression of the bidding while you are there. I know I will pay more attention regardless of who is hosting the auction.

OK - been offline for a couple of days, but who's coming to this? I saw something about folks meeting for breakfast - is that happening? There's a Frisch's right near this place with a breakfast bar and menu items (my wife actually worked there when we were in college). Who's in? We could meet there at 8:30-9:00?
LMK...

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to bow out. The little one has an ear infection...there will be no sleep in Dayton tonight.

Babies, they're disease factories.

The auction wasn't bad at all. There were very few people there and deals to be had by all. I picked up a generic 2 gun shooter cab for $150.00. All the games were pretty much in working order and there was a ton of redemption games. Here are a few pics I took:

Many of the games were pulled during the auction. If the minimum wasn't met then the auctioneer would skip that item. There were quite a few multi-cades that were pulled because the ops didn't get their asking price.

Many of the games were huge!

aww man, there was a burgertime? i didn't see that in the listings when browsing online. any idea what it went for?
