Been playing a lot of DK jr this week and finally got past Mario's Hideout with a few spare men and then passed the next key level. But, the next springboard level I lost three men really quick. Then I had to go to bed. There were many more birds at the top of the screen and the floating platforms at the bottom seemed more difficult to try and jump to the moving wire. Any suggestions on how to beat this board? Any links to web sites that might have clues? (My ending score was 77,000ish -- I'm trying to get to 100,000)

Not a bullet proof method but what I found to work for me is get DKJR to the last TWO vines and stay all the way to the top. When the birds come down, pull DKJR down (to dodge the bird) and then go back up. When you have TWO birds in a row that go across the top dodge both and make your break to the right.

Hard to explain without the game in front of me right now but as far as the bottom spring when you leap into the air repeatedly press the jump button and start your jump as the platform is near you and when you make the big leap you should either be able to grab the vine above the platform or land on the platform itself. FWIW I never take the long route on these boards, even if it takes a few jumps.

I told someone here that I'd video tape a game or two for them a few weeks ago but haven't had time. But, I have a 5-day mini-vacation coming up starting tomorrow so I'll try to video the patterns I use for level 4 and up.

BTW, that's exactly what I do... at the start of the level, I wait 1/2s before I move right and then jump and keep pressing the jump button until I super jump to the upper platform. If I miss, I reverse-jump and press the jump button repeatedly to try and get a super jump again. (a reverse-jump is when you jump to the left, but your guy will spring to the right instead of going left, back to the starting position) I also never go the long route.

If you get the super jump on the first try, and then immediately get to the vines and up in the bird zone... the level is easy. There's also a pattern of 6 birds and then a pause when getting across the top. The 6 birds have to evenly spaced to be counted but it does work once you know what to look for.

Just received an email and thought I'd post my answer here... I'll upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo so whoever wants to can see it...

Good video. At the top of the spring level on this difficulty I usually jump across the top platform straight onto the vine with the fruit on it from the adjacent platform then wait for the birds there as it saves a tiny bit of time.
