do you need to use heat sink paste on it? looking at bob robert's ar2 page, it looks like you don't, just the insulator. can anyone confirm this for me.?
 
If you use a flexible insulator, no paste.
If you use a mica (transparant) insulator you have to use paste.


Use very little paste !

Thanks for this... Made me go back and add some paste to a monitor I just did a transistor on... I always re-apply paste when there is paste already there, but this particular monitor had one of the flexi-insulators... and it shredded when I took it off... replaced with mica, didn't even think about adding paste (because it wasn't there to begin with). You probably saved me some transistor frying later on! :)

It was a duh moment for me, too.
