What would cause part of the screen to be dark like this?

Check the 33uf 200v and the 100uf 200v caps. the caps may look good but when you take them out you might see a leg staying the board as it has come loose from the cap.

Thanks guys, after some more looking I've got some bulging caps (the worst I've seen on a couple actually), sent off an email to Bob.

Anyone have the service manual for the 27k7502?
I can't seen to find one on the WG site and I'd like to know what B+ should be on this one.

did you recently replace the flyback on forget the wire that wraps around the flyback ferrite and solders into 2 points on the mainboard?.

nope, I resoldered the wire.
I suppose I can recheck the connection on both ends, but I only desoldered/resoldered 1 side.

What is the purpose of that? I thought it was some sort of ferrite-less noise thing...

Well, capkit is done and I still have the same picture.
If I turn up the screen control I can see the text VERY dim under the super black bar.

What IS the purpose of that black wire that is wrapped around the flyback?
I'm fairly sure I replaced it the same way it was originally (I know I have the solder points correct but I'm not exactly sure about the wrapping part) if someone has a pic of it properly that I can verify that would be greatly appreciated!

So where to go from here?

Anyone?
