just wanted to add this since I noticed some confusion on this chassis. it is a 27 inch p538 board. it is not a newer 7300 but in the k7000 family very close to the k7100 part numbers.

yes

all the parts on the extra board. the # on the board ect.

the width cap, IC3, any pot differences, C37 if it has a C69 or if it is a 4 legged beast for C36.

all the electrolytic caps on the chassis their values uf/v and their locations.

plus detailed pics of the chassis front back side to side close far away the extra card on the chassis front and back.

and any other thing that is out of the norm.

it is allot but there is no info on all theses items documented anywhere.

i want to compile it for all to see and get it on my site eventually.

the guy wants me over this weekend to fix it so I will get all the info off of it. if I decide to bring it home to take my time on it can I use my 25 inch test rig?

as far as i know you can.

i have never had a problem with it as far as i know.
there may be a fold over line on the rite side and maybe the left as you adjust the H-POS or the H-SYNC

also get the yoke readings and yoke # and the Tube # please.

it is allot of info but the more the better.

well this didnt turn out to good, went armed with everything I thought I needed to repair this guys monitor. even brought a few spare 25 inch chassis. from what he descibed it sounded like the flyback was arcing to ground, not the case, the tube was arcing to the neck board. G2 to be exact. swapped in a chassis to see if there was something wrong with the neck board and did the same thing. zapped it several times with no good results

so you are saying the tube was cracked.

if it is the tube, a A68 tube should be a good replacement.

all the ones i have seen have had K7000 drop in yokes already on them.

with this setback will you have an opportunity to get any info.
or is it a done deal.

tube is glowing orange and I didnt see any cracks. pins are staight and was tight on both chassis. I should be back to retube this thing when we figure it out.

i would take an extra neck socket with you.

that one looks to have a short/hole in it.

the one in the picture is the spare chassis I brought with me,both are chassis are shorting at the same place so there must be a fault with the tube.

I just picked up a nice condition one with neck glow but no raster for $20 from a guy down the street. Actually needed a 25". Not sure what I was thinking. Must be the heat. :)

If I still have it the next time you are in town, and you want it, I'll give it to you for what I paid. Besides, I still have some other chassis to get to you somehow.

if you do not want it i will buy it.

i want to document some of the parts on it.

Got your PM, but the monitor basically works. Needs a cap kit and all that tweaking stuff. I turned the red off, but it was working. The original caps are still in it so I am going to let it be so that nothing blows on it due to being overstressed. You are still welcome to it.
