I have a 27" Sharp TV that has a CR-23 connector. I am interest in pairing it with a K7400 chassis, but do not have the K7400 yoke. Would this work without a yoke swap?

Tube: A68ADT25X (No brand information that I can see)
H: 1.5
V: 6.0

This would be my first tube swap, and most information I am finding is for a 25" swap, thus why I am asking here.

Is the yoke for a U2000 25" the same as a 27" K7401? I was going to just swap the yoke, but I have been finding it a challenge to find a matching yoke.

Not sure about 27", but 25" TV yokes generally work on 25" arcade monitors.

You'd probably need to replace the lead, since TV yokes rarely have the right connector. You can get them at ArcadeCup.

I'd give it a shot.

I swapped out a 27" TV tube on a U2000. All I really needed to do was adjust out the pincushion. Picture looked great.

that said, a few facts:
-the U2000/U5000/K7400 share the same yoke
-I saw someone hack a U2000 onto a K7000 tube and it didn't self destruct
-K7000s are routinely swapped onto TVs using original yokes

can it be done? probably. should you do it? probably not.

I think a lot of people don't understand the importance of the yoke in combination with the electronics in these monitor chassis. you can do what you feel is necessary, I guess.

I am looking to learn, not just get instant gratification, so the explanation is greatly appreciated. So the inductance should be read if one wants to truly go that route, not using a $20 multimeter to read ohms.

I was able to find a U2000 yoke that came out of a 25" busted tube. Considering I am putting this on a 27" monitor, does the yoke differ based on screen size?

Is the Sanyo 9a2988-1 yoke correct for a 27" K7400 series chassis? Is there any resource where I can look this up?

So I went ahead and did the tube swap. Picture looks really nice, and everything went without a hitch. The K7400 adjustment board made fine tuning far easier. If anyone is looking at this model TV, it works great with a 27" K7400.
