Ill post pics, along with questions tommorow, but in the meantime, where can i find a manual on this monitor?

ok, im gonna go ahead and ask. im gonna refer to pg 20 in the manual for my questions. If you look on pg 20 towards the bottom, you'll see c40. Just below that you'll see an A & B where 2 blue wires run from. the B runs down the board just above R83. My question is, what does that wire solder to on the other side of the pcb? also, there is some resistor on the solder side of the pcb that came off, and i have no idea where it goes, but i know it's close to where the blue wire get soldered. hopefully this will help, and ill still post pics tommorow. Also, im gonna do a cap kit on this thing soon and plan on gettin the kit from bobroberts. can i get resistors from him too? i wanna replace the one that came off the backside.

Thanks,
Jason

If a part came off the /bottom/ of the chassis, you will need a photo of another one. Those are undocumented changes by WG that aren't in the manual.

also i did a wonderful writeup on common k7000 issues over at arcade-collectors.com so that may be worth a read as well.

You might as well quit writing this, as it can't be read without signing up (and some people don't feel like joining multiple sites) and others have been put on the "miserable" list by the admin over there, and also can't access it.

If you feel it's so important, just create a new thread here and copy/paste it here. Besides, this site gets WAY more monitor repair activity than over there....

I find it extremely odd how so many people refer to "other" sites such as byoac, etc without batting an eye and see no problem with that ..........
but the arcade-collectors forums gets total grief. I love it!

I can lead a horse to water but cant make them drink i suppose.

I really dont feel like reposting this all again, youll have to wait untill i have more time and im less pissed off.

i find it funny how we are all on multiple sites and now this ones suddenly a problem. If somebody here wants to see that post but cant, CONTACT ME im a mod over there and im sure we could work something out.

Other sites let you read the posts without having to register.

I think people get pissed because of the requirement to register when all they want to do is read the posts.

I see. Well i guess thats tough. If you dont want to contribute to a forum then you shouldnt be allowed to troll information either. It takes 20 secs to register, not a big deal, IMHO

Im done now. I have said what i need to say. I dont want this turning into another flame fest.

sorry for the drama on your post there original poster! let us know how the repair goes...

I thought it was about the freedom of information. All that's going to happen if people sign up and don't want to is they're going to pull that info out, never post, and clog up the other sites database with info that doesn't need to be there.

And why are you getting to bent out of shape? It it your site?

I don't recall saying that one was a problem (even though it is). My problem is when someone comes to THIS site and says, "I have an answer, but won't give it to you HERE." If you're not going to contribute your wealth of knowledge to THIS site, you might as well stop answering K7000 questions. In this day and age of computers and fast internet, it takes maybe 2 minutes to go open another browser window/tab, find the relevant post, highlight and copy, and come back and paste and submit. Not doing so shows to me that you are using it as a means to get more people to go over there.

And I am one of the people who "can't" read that post over there, even though I am registered over there. As a "mod over there", you should know why. If you don't - you should find out, and then ask yourself if you're still proud about being a moderator over there.

Trust me, if I wanted to cause a shitstorm over here about that site, I could just go public with what I know about why I can no longer access it, even though I haven't been "banned" officially...

That wasnt intended twoards you bud.

Theres plenty of info here at klov(ive already cut and pasted all my k7000 info in previous posts), and theres tons and tons of info out there at other "evil 7th circle of hell" forums as well.

Forgive me if im sick of retyping and/or cut and pasting the same thing over and over again.

Its alot easier on me to just post a link to where ive already done a nice post with lots of pics, forgive me if you dont want to go to that forum.

For the 1000th time, I CANNOT go to that forum. How long are you going to ignore this situation?

If you've already pasted it here somewhere, then link to it here. If it's so easy to post a link "over there" it should be just as easy to post a link over here to what you say is already here somewhere.

As for not wanting to type it all in again, fine. But you don't seem to have any problems typing in "go over to the other site for the answer".

And quite frankly, I place that kind of response in the same category as the ones that offer you a free IQ test, but you have to sign up to get your score. "Here's the answer, but you have to sign up to see it."

(Can you tell I'm getting a little pissed off about it? If it were "free for everyone to see over there after they sign up", then I would have already gone over there and copied it and pasted it here, since you can't seem to take the trouble. But I can't, can I?)

Sheesh.

And to the OP, I'm sorry this has blown up in your thread....
