Hi all,

More monitor trouble!

I have a 25K7191 thats had a dim image for a while. I have the screen knob on the flyback and the brightness tweaked to get a decent picture but it's still quite dim.

I notice that when displaying images containing a large amount of white, it blinks. The image contracts and gets darker for a moment until the scene changes.

Could this be a bad flyback?

Thanks

Karl

caps and flyback i am sure it needs along with a good reflow of the chassis. if you need parts i have them all.

if you're not able to get good color with the brightness set to attain absolute black it's probably the tube. until you're able to rule that out with a rejuvenator you won't know what it will need.

Sounds like blooming which is just a problem with the 25" K7000 monitors. The design of the chassis didn't really stabilize the voltage all too well, so you get contractions and expansions as the brightness changes. The brighter the image on screen, the more noticeable the blooming is. Just something you have to get used to with that model of monitor.

Caps were done a while ago, I picked up a k7000 flyback so I'll probably try changing that.

For someone who doesn't have a rejuvenator already, is there a particular model that's best? Is it possible to rent one?
