Yes, another K7000 thread. This monitor is in a Terminator 2. I didn't take pictures / notes when I pulled the chassis and I'm not sure that I'm re-installing it correctly. There is a green wire (ground I assume) on the input connector. This game has an isolation transformer so I'm not sure why there's a ground on that connector. Do I attach the other end to the monitor frame?
The reason I'm asking is because my chassis keeps blowing fuses no matter what I do to it.
First, I replaced the HOT, VR, and did a cap kit (including C56
).
Fuse still blew.
Next, I replaced the flyback and HOT, and didn't reconnect the degauss coil.
Fuse still blew.
I just replaced the HOT and VR again and I'm very hesitant to try it out.
I read the K7000 thread and followed the flow chart. Diodes D19-D22 test fine. I checked the upright resistor in the corner and it's ok. C36 & C69 are not shorted. I always reconnect the DAG wire to the neckboard.
Why is that ground on my input connector? And am I creating a hot chassis by connecting it to the frame? Does the remote board have to be connected? What else should I do before the next smoke test?
