Started out with uneven/stretched linearity. New caps and flyback gives me even lines, but the image is still stretched considerably. May be ok if you like scan lines. The tube is a junk test tube, but still shows better than this with a good chassis. At least I don't get retrace lines just to see the image. The 50/60 pot doesn't adjust enough, same with v size. Oddly it seems like the retrace lines are where they should be. I get the feeling once the lines are spaced right I will see some brightness come back. Your thoughts? Thanks!

that tube is junk. still doesn't help the linearity issue, but the emissions from the electron guns have absolutely nothing to do with the intensity of the raster you're seeing.

I know it's junk, that is why it's a test tube. Works fine enough for that, and I assure you that other chassis do look better on it.

Do other chassis look this way on this tube or just this chassis? Cause your brightness and contrast problems could be related to this chassis.

The chassis came from another 25k7000 that was on location. I realized I had pulled r94 for some reason so when I put that back in the brightness got better. Still not as good as other chassis on this same tube, but better. I have checked everything in the linearity section on the schematic, working my way upstream now. I keep hoping to poke a solder joint and find a broken trace.

Thought I tried swapping the remote board already. Tried it again (or the first time) and suddenly more v size control! Went to replace the pot and..

Well that was fun. Looks better now. Swapped the whole bottom row of pots with a board that had all the top row smashed. Maybe the uneven linearity was a cap issue exacerbated by the broken v-size pot. Thanks for your help, guys! Still looks ugly on this junk tube, but there is enough range on the adjustments that I am confident it will look good on a better tube.
