Well guys, I got a Tekken Tag Tournament kit in a Simpsons Bowling cabinet today for 80 bones. The neck of the monitor is broken. The game played 100% up until the move when the neck was broken. I looked around on here and found a couple of other guys with the same problem. The monitor is a WG 25K7190. I read that it may be possible to take a 90's era crt 25" tv, and pull the tube out of that and swap it into here. Is that correct? If so, what type of tv am I looking for and a quick how to would be awesome. I did pull the monitor and chassis from the cabinet already, so pictures will be easy to take if needed. Thanks in advance.

Yep, I've done a few dozen 25" tube swaps.. And many more 19" ones too..

Find yourself a 25" black plastic case tv from the 90's.. Crack it open and go to town.. There are tons of threads here, blogs, sites, etc documenting the process.. Just make sure the neck of the tube fits into the socket on your k7000 neck board.. Swap the yoke, keep the rings from the donor tube as you'll need them.. Took me a while to figure out that the original rings should stay with the tube :)

Good luck!

one thing i have found is, if the model number is CLOSE, the tube is compatible

i dont know how far off one can go with the model number being off and the tube still can be swapped out, but so far every close model number TV i have bought, has been swappable

good luck to you

I think I've got a good start as far as an understanding on how to do this swap. The only thing I'm unclear on is the whole ring thing and the importance of swapping the yoke. That section of the tutorial was not completed on the junknet site.
