Got home from auction and fired up game to find that I have a green vertical line with two little white circle on the bottom. Any quick ideas before attempting to follow flowchart tomorrow.

sounds like horizontal collapse. ie. blown HOT

common problem with these damn things. but they look beautiful when they work!

wish I could lend you a hand, but the best I know is that it's the large transistor mounted to the metal heatsink. I'm not a monitor repair guy.. I just cap em and adjust em.

Well that vertical line is actually a horizontal line as I sit here reading through Polo post, I realized the monitor is mounted in the vertical position. Any other suggestions??

well then you have vertical collapse.

here's a question, is the remote adjustment board plugged in??

if hot [horizontal output transistor] is shorted, there won't be nothing to make fbt work, which means no HV, and therefor no image, also no heater circuit, generally for crt

correct, you'll get a nice ticking sound to go along with it.
