The Star Wars and Pole Position cockpits seem to be of pretty similar dimensions, anyone know if you can get a 25" monitor into a Pole Position cockpit? I finally got mine working again and have several spare 25" screens.

I think I remember reading they were actually thinking of using 25s in them. Here is an easy test, open it up and see if it fits.

the star wars cockpit fits without a frame and the top of the cabinet comes off. I would bet you could make it work, but it pobably would be a pain to get it in.

measure the tubes mounts and you can fit. then check the depth and see if the neck board might hit.

Eh, looks like a no go. Some quick measurements showed that it would probably fit physically however you wouldn't be able to use the normal Pole Position glass bezel and that is enough to make it a no go for me.

Put an LCD in it!!

j/k ;)

I have 17 or 20 spare CRT monitors now. I may never have to resort to an LCD in anything at all (if I ever have to use an lcd then it is gonna be Trivia or something).

Bingo. When I picked up my converted cockpit it had a 25 in it (albeit with a little bit of the particle board chunked out to make it fit). It had clear glass with a mini black cardboard bezel.

Of course the original bezel wouldn't work with a 25"...

but you could put a 13" in it and fill in the space with black cardboard.. heh
