Hello all! I started reading posts about the Namco Classics Vol 1 PCB that went for 400 so I started looking on eBay for one. I didn't find a board, but I found a Neo Geo system with the board in it all ready to go for 350. So, I pulled the trigger and it was delivered yesterday. The colors do not seem right but they looked correct in the ad. I've read most of the posts on monitor adjustment and I can't seem to get it right. When it was delivered, it zapped and popped for a second and then came on. Not sure if something happened during shipment or if I bought it with issues.
Anyway, I've included before and after screen shots and a pic of the back of the monitor. The attachment class2.jpg is from the listing and the others are since I've gotten it.
Any help is welcome!

Well, the attached pic is no help for monitor identification. Look at the labels on the frame and chassis for manufacturer names and model numbers.

Or visit these sites to see if you can ID it yourself:

I can't see much difference in your pics, since they don't show the same screen. It's possible your issue is caused by magnetic interference which happens often when a game is moved or positioned in a manner different than before. It can be fixed by deguassing. It's also possible that the neckboard came a little loose during shipping and isn't letting all of the colors display properly (and may explain the popping noise you heard.

And then there is the more likely possibility that you bought a used game with a working used-and-not-rebuilt-recently monitor and the act of shipping/moving/bouncing in the truck caused it possibly develop an issue with a cold solder joint - in which case you may need to have some work done to it to get it back to optimum performance.

Have you tried adjusting the colors, contrast, or brightness?

Found my problem. Need PCB repaired.

I've adjusted them in the past and used to have a CRT overhead projector screen so I've done convergence, etc. for a few years.

But...I decided to try another PCB and it worked just fine. So, I tried another one and then put the problem PCB in another machine. It is the PCB! It has a green cast to everything and blues seem to bleed.

So, who repairs Namco Classic Collection Vol 1. PCBs? Does that make sense?

Thanks for the help!

First try reseating the socketed chips and cleaning the edge connector...

Ok. I pulled and reseated the chips and cleaned the edge connector. Same problem.

So now it needs to be repaired? Is this indicitive of a bad video processor on the PCB?

Thanks again for the help!

Maybe. Maybe not. an you take a pic of your screen when it's the same one as your "before" pic?

Thanks. It looks the same because now realize that in the original pic it was wrong as well. I bought it with this problem. Since my OP, I've put the board in three machines and all are the same with the incorrect colors.
I found a site that has a Japanese version of the game with the correct screen colors here:

This is a link where someone has captured all of the shots of the game.

Mine look nothing like this. All green backgrounds and bleeding blues on mine and it doesn't show chrome properly either. This is the same in all three of my machines. I can turn down the green but purples and chrome are not present no matter what I do in any of the machines. Really strange! Its almost like someone lopped off the higher parts of the bytes for the pixels (if I remember my computer graphics).

Thanks again for the help!
