here is the long story, below is the question if you want to skip the story.

i bought another midway sportstation machine. this was a dedicated showtime machine that "needed a hard drive". well i get there and check it out. it looks to be in pretty good shape. i open the back door and there is a problem. no monitor chassis and no iso. when i showed the ower what was really missing i got the game for $50. i got home and pulled the boards out and tested them in my working sportstation and they work perfect with the harddrive that came with the game. so now i need a chassis. i bought a chassis from kidvidiot who said he bought it as working but doesnt need it.

now here is the question: the chassis i have looks to be a u5000. can i use that chassis with the tube i have? i wouldn't have questioned it but i just saw a sticker on the monitor frame that says "only use k7500 chassis" or something to that effect. the tube should be interchangeable with different chassis as long as the pins are the same right? if i can use this chassis it does not need an iso transformer right?

you can swap between u5000 and k7500 chassis, but you will need to swap out(or in your case locate) the yoke as well, then pray you can get it converged.

Id hunt for a k7500 chassis..

ALso, if you have a rejuve or know someone sho does i would highly reccomend you check the tube before you put in all this effort. It would suck ass to do all this work only to find out the tube is borked too.

thanks for the info guys. i guess i need another chassis. i do have a rejuvenator so i'll test the tube before i do anything else.

Check the yoke to see what the sticker says. If it says 009A2988-001, then it will work with the U5000. If it says 009-3xxx-xxx, then you probably need a K7500.

Find out the exact label # for the K7500 though, as the 7501 uses a different yoke than a 7502 and you'll get pincushion issues if you mismatch...
