Has anybody done this, and were there any compatability issues? What LCD TV/Monitor do you use in yours? (brand/exact size) Does the widescreen look weird? Got pics of your games screenshot? I personally could care less about how close it looks to the old monitors. I just don't want to buy a TV or a LCD monitor, and then find out that it won't work with my 60 in 1, or doesn't fit the screen right. Anybody?

Got an LCD computer monitor? Hook it up to the VGA port and you'll see what it looks like...

As long as the monitor/tv will accept a resolution of 640x480 it should be fine. Most monitors have an auto adjust, do it when in a game like pacman or donkeykong, the menu is smaller and if you adjust to that some games will be off the edge of the screen. I think once you go past 19" there are only widescreen LCDs. I would look for one that has the option of keeping the 4x3 ratio OR streching the image. My Dell 20" (or 22") has that option as well as all HD tv's Ive used. Don't know of a 25" LCD though, they do have 26" and if you are going to be using the 4x3 ratio, you won't be using all of it.

I replaced a bad G07 in my pacman cocktail with a 19" dell widescreen lcd put in sideways. I have the 48-1 board, in the test mode there is an option to rotate 90 degrees so it is using the monitor vertically instead of horizontally. The picture is real nice. I think horizontally the old games would look strange being wide. I will snap a pic of it this weekend for you.

Not necessarily, different LCD's have different refresh rates and what not. I tried running an LCD in a game once and it looked like ass. I'd stick with a CRT, just my opinion.

It's always vertical. the "flip screen" switch flips it 180 degrees, just in case you mount it backwards.

First, buy a computer monitor and not a TV since they are cheaper. Also, you can still buy non-widescreen computer displays. Newegg.com has about 40+ of them, but I think the largest is about 22".

If you want to have a 25" 4:3 screen you would need to buy like a 30" 16x9 monitor and do not allow it to stretch.

If you buy a computer monitor they are not typically 16x9 more like 16x10 so maybe a 28-29 might give about the right size of a 25" crt

I was able to fine some dimensions 26.4"x 19.2" for a 28" LCD, it would be a close fit depending on the cabinet you want to mount it in.

I am saying the screen is wide vertically instead of horizontally and that be a screen rotated 90 degrees not 180.

I haven't seen an option to rotate the screen 90' - where is it in the menu?

Dip switch 1 is the flip screen toggle and it is 180' not 90 (i.e. Fixes an upside down screen) it doesnt allow you to display a vertical image horizontally (a 90' flip).

Dip Switch 2 is VGA/CGA mode (ON is VGA)

I frequently use a 25" LCD to test out my 60 in 1 boards, which is why it would be nice of there was a 90' flip.

What he means is that the games are "vertically oriented", not "horizontally oriented", and that the monitor must be turned 90 degrees if it's normally mounted horizontally...

Huh?

I'm confused. The orientation is always vertical, I've never seen a setting where you can change that. If your referring to the monitor itself, then yes you rotate that 90 degrees so its vertical, but what is this "option" you are referring to? My only guess was that you were referring to the dip switch option to "flip" the screen, and that merely flips it upside down (180).

Or are you merely referring to the fact that Rally X (a horizontal game) is on the 48-1, with the text and controls rotated 90 degrees?
