so i sold my blitz 99 to my boss. hes whining that the pic is too wide. was no big deal to me, but its my boss so i figure i better make him happy.

i figured no big deal its just an adjustment...

so i go to insert my width tool, none will go in, i get little bits of white something on my tool..

did those bastards at wg but some sort of sealer on this width coil?

i dont know about silicone. the last one i capped and went to adjust i had to remove the width coil from the board and unscrew the slug out the bottom and trun it around. because wells put glue in the top of the slug so you could not adjust it at all.

Peace

thats just effing fantastic.... sorry didnt mean to shoot the messenger. THis is prolly the same problem i have...

Why were you messing with the width coil? The width is adjusted via a pot on the remote board...

well, that's a great thought, I'm a little confused about that myself, considering why would they seal it in a spot that you couldn't get the width down any?

weird.

there maybe another issue that you could run into trying to shrink the width on that particular chassis.....it has a transistor mounted on a small piece of angle bracket that is mounted at the back right corner of the frame. It is plugged in by a 3 wire connector, if it has come off for some reason, the width will not adjust at all.....or if it is bad it won't adjust. So take a flashlight with you when you go and make sure it is plugged in (correctly) and that the transistor is good.

anybody have a pic og which way is correct to plug that in?

i had a u5000 once with that transistor shorted, but i had virtually no adjustments and pincushion as well as width was wayyyyyy off.. so hmm i guess i need to do a little poking around. I did not have time to mess with it today, i will dig into it tommorow night.

That's true. Forgot that's on the 7500. Yeah, if it's disconnected or on backwards, the width won't adjust.

If you plug it in backwards, it won't mess it up. It just won't adjust. Turn it over if that is the case and try it the other way...

yeah im a moron. How i missed the width adjustment pot ont he remote board is beyond mee, but oh well.. all is well.

i did notice the brightness adjustment doesent do much, but feek it pic looks good were gonna run it..
