Hey all, in my mk4 the neotec is dark once turned on, but after 20 mins of it warming up, it brightens up, and then lines will show up in the back ground. Does this sound like a classic flyback issue? And if so, would there be anything else i should change on it whilemi change the fly? And any idea where i might be able to find parts for neotecs?

Thanks

power it up again, but this time turn the Screen pot on the flyback up yourself. if you get a bright picture without waiting 20 minutes, then yes, the Screen adjustment is changing on its own and that means it's time for a new flyback.

you have options. you have to make note of what model it is, I'm guessing it's a 2500, I don't know if the alternative model # designation Neotec used applies to the standard res one... the monitor in my Blitz is a NT-25E, but it was also called the NT-2501, which as far as what's different between them or not, I don't know.

Bob Roberts didn't have the Neotec stuff by monitor model, but rather by the flyback part #. so you'll have to do a little research. Ken Layton always swears by just buying parts from Neotec directly, so that's another option, otherwise I'm sure Chad at ArcadeCup has something, or at the very worst, Happ's got them. if Ken says to get direct from Neotec though, I guess that's a good place to start. while you're at it, you should get a cap kit from them too if you haven't done so.

nobody ever has a god damn proper cap kit for those, except Zanen or I would hope Neotec.

could be a bad tube too....

brightness overcranked to compensate, when cold pic still sucks warm pic is overbright due to over adjustment..

lets hope im wrong.
