Anyone have a 3 player CP in a 25" dynamo cab? What 3 player games were dropped in a dynamo cab? Were Dynamo cabs used for 3 player games? Looking to get some info for my Moonwalker build. Thanks!

There was a guy in the for sale section that was trying to sell an Aliens Vs. Predator (AVP) just the other day. A lot of info in there. I think you looking at AVP, Captain Commando, and maybe the Dungeons and Dragons games....although, I think they were 4 players.

Thank you sir! Read through the thread... you were right lots of info... attached are some pics of my cab. Any idea if what I have is an H5 cab?

Hey there dj,

That is not a Dynamo HS-5 unfortunately. Not really sure what cabinet that is to be honest.
But I have enclosed a link to what a Dynamo HS-5 looks like.

Can't remember off the top of my head what 3player games capcom had (if any). But any game that was more than 2 player was on a "Big Blue" or a Dynamo showcase in my stomping grounds. I've enclosed links to them as well. Putting a 3 player game or more on any dynamo other than a showcase is honestly not a good idea, too small. Hope this helps.

This is a SFII CE on a HS-5 that I did. The actual base extender had been removed. So it's shorter in height.

This is a pic of what the Dynamo showcase looks like. One of my all time favorite cabs. (Large pic) I wish I had the room to own one.

Here is a Big blue running a 4 player capcom "Slammasters" game.

Hey thanks challenger. Yes this is helpful... I did look at the links and my cab does not look like any that you posted. I thought it looked similar to the HS-5 but I see that it is different.

I have a 3 player battletoads in a pit fighter cab similar in size which is why I thought converting would work. I layed the CP for battletoads on the cp of the dynamo cab and is fits well other than the fact that the slots dont match up.

I have also seen pictures of moonwalker in a similar looking cab (at least it appears to be.. see attached)

I don't know what cab you have off the top of my head, but I would recommend looking the back of the cabinet over very well as well as the inside for any signs of original manufacturing markings. I have a sneaking suspicion that yours may be an old midway cab from the looks of it. An MKII or KI cabinet. But look for stickers on the back that may have who the original manufacturer was first. Sega was pretty good about having stickers that id a cab years after they were converted if yours was a moonwalker. But honestly, I doubt it was.

That looks like it could very well be a dynamo cab of some sort. The HS-1,2,and 5 look very much alike and have certain characteristics that tell them apart. Also, there were a few other company cab models that look very similar them. I didn't know MW was 3 players.

Yeah I am positive it is a Dynamo just not sure what model. There is a Dynamo name plate on the front of the game itself as seen in pics attached and several stickers that say dynamo. I also ndo not think its a dedicated MJ... but was hoping it had been converted to one in the past as the parts fit perfectly...

I bought a NOS bezel and sideart for MJ and a used marquee... they both fit perfectly on the cab which is why Im wondering what cab MJ was added to. This cab only has 2 coin mechs... not 3 like the MJ dedicated would have. I will be building a CP for this cab and hoping it all fits as a 3 player. I wish I knew where to get dimensions for a similar 3 player CP that someone may have put in one of these cabs...

Thanks for the input guys!

That's cool. There is a few stickers I've never seen before. Like that dynamo barcode one.

There should be another serial sticker, a real small one. Perhaps on the inside or back that looks like this.

That one doesn't say it because I think it was originally just a converter cab. But my brother's sticker has SF3 on it under GAME. I guess that is what HF or CE were called back then.

Where is the power switch? Is it on the top right hand side above the marquee, or on the right side of the cab near the back?
Here is my other restore thread when I restored my SFII: World Warrior HS-2 cab. You can see in this thread where my PSU and power switch is. Also if you have a extension on your back door.

HS-1 and 2(s) had 19" monitors so the doors were flat. But when converted to the 25" monitors, the doors were modified to fit the 25" monitor's flyback. My brother's HS-5 is completely flat with a 25" because that is what they came with to begin with.

By looking at the back door pic. It looks very similar to my brother's cab. You have a sort of a small rectangle door that sits right behind the monitor correct? And I'm willing to bet that your power switch is on the right hand side.

Sure Does look like an HS-27 when I googled it... except my has a 25" Monitor instead of the 27"

I also read the HS-27 has a front CP pull out... my does not pull out just tilts open...

Any idea what games were commonly put in an HS-27 cab or is it just generic?
