I know information on these is basically nil and I can't read Korean so the website is useless but hoping someone might have some experience with this issue. The monitor is the same as the one Ken identified in this post (BTM23D):

I can't adjust the image width beyond what is pictured. When I try to adjust the horizontal position, it just folds over, the image will not go beyond that threshold. I traced the horizontal width adjustment from the remote to the IC (TDA9102C). I've replaced all the electrolytics surrounding the IC and the width adjustment pot on the remote. There is no adjustable coil on the board. I ordered the IC but it's on backorder, naturally. Looking for some divine intervention here...

Thanks

No such luck. I was looking at the datasheet for the TDA9102C. I'm going to check the components that make up the horizontal section. Other than that, I guess I can only wait until the replacement chip shows up and hope that solves it.

Thanks

Visual Displays sold my friend a Pentranic chassis/tube kit a couple years ago with the same problem you have. Turns out they had the wrong yokes installed on the tubes.

That would be pretty messed up. That being said, I should probably try to get some kind of history from the person I got this one from.

I already checked the yoke impedance to see if one of the K7000's I have lying around would work, it's close enough that I may try that route if the IC replacement doesn't work.

Thanks

Maybe the yoke is 90 degrees off. Problem then is that the horizon winding would have to be on the vertical side - usually they're drastically different.

Just heard back from the person I bought it from. He said it was working when he pulled it out of a Terraburst, where it was mounted screen up. He installed it in a Ms Pac and the problem was there as soon as he turned it on. So, I don't think that it's an issue of something being assembled wrong.

Maybe the shock from going from a butt kicking alien shoot-em game to a prissy Ms Pac was too much for it ;-)

Thanks

Next thing I would check is how many volts AC that monitor is getting - not enough width could indicate its not getting enough juice.
