I recently picked up a star wars with a broken tube. Has anyone ever successfully done a tube swap on a 25"amp. I know a tube is a tube with the exception of dot pitch and neck size. I assume most tv tubes will have the tighter pitch and a cr 23 neck so that shouldn't be a problem. Mine appears to have a standard 90 degree tube not the shallow 100 degree. I have a 6100 I can put in there but didn't want to give upon the dream yet.
Thanks

So it had the original 25" Amplifone but the tube is broken? If so I think VDC still has tubes that replace the A63AAX00X. Then you'll need to transfer the yoke, rings, and magnetic fine tuning strips and the hardest part: converge the red, green, and blue beams. See www.gauck.com/arcade/Amp25

The original 25 inch is a 100 degree tube and uses the same yoke as the WG6100 which is a 100 degree 19 inch tube.
