24 Years in the Waiting....Finally, the Game that Started it all!

I am so happy with my new purchase. It may seem lame to some, but this was the FIRST arcade game I ever played. It was a Nintendo Vs. Castlevania in a DK Jr cab. I always remembered the "orange castle game".
About 10 years ago, I purchased my first arcade game that was a Vs. Castlevania in a Midway cab. I had it shipped to me and when I got it I was surprised to see that it wasn't in an "ORANGE" cab like I remembered. But the orange T molding threw me and I thought my memory was wrong.
The game had many problems and some times would take 30 min or more to finally show a picture. After weighing the options I was able to get a new Vs. Castlevania that is exactly the same as I played before.

I swapped the buttons on the control panel to be "red" and "black". I also threw on some new T molding which makes any game look almost new.
I could not be happier to finally have the game that started it all for me!!

The first 3 pics are as I purchased it.
The last 2 are after a little work.

There are a few things left to do.
The coin door is a bit beat up. I could replace it.
I also am going to replace the COIN BUCKET on the inside of the cab.
Finally, it is time to create a Vs. Castlevania bezel that everyone, including myself has been talking about.

I can tell you're excited about this, because you've posted about it 2 or 3 other times. :D

That's a good thing, though. Getting a grail like that is awesome.

My Vs. Castlevania is in my red tent and on a Top Gun PCB (I have the original, but the CHR seems F-ed up)

thats awesome you got your 1st for me it was kick man so i know how you feel, it may not be all that to some but to me its the one game i wont part with. so again great score im happy for you

Almost forgot I had the topper and instruction card for the red tent.
What do you think of placing the instruction card where I have it??

Sometimes it's cool to get a game down just the way *you* remembered playing it. I have a generic Dynamo HS-1 that I purposely keep a bit beat up and utilize only generic stuff (the CPO art is the red/black version of this cheesy thing) just so it feels like the Street Fighter 2's I'd play in 7-11/random liquor stores. :)

I really like the topper. I'm surprised that orange winds up working so well for this game.

It wasn't the first game I've played, but the first time I ever played a castlevania game it was in one of these. I've always remembered it. And now its one of my favorite game series. Congrats.

I only wish it was slightly better graphics than the Nintendo 8 bit cart.
Anyone have opinions on the Instruction Card placement? What do you think? The Jury is still out for me.

I would try placing the instruction card behind the glass somewhere. Maybe in the upper right corner. Try different placements. Behind the glass would protect it well too.

Your Castlevania marquee would fit in a single-monitor Playchoice cab too. It would look tight in black! Think about it.
