I then get to find out how several people *from all over the country*
-told the seller not to accept under x dollars for x item no matter what*
they should of just listed them on ebay if was to be a auction I guess???
Man oh man. I see these these deals pop up all over the country, but always too far away for me to get too excited. I see the ads, shake my head and move one, thinking "Man, those lucky bastards in Texas/California/ New York, that stuff never happens around here." I never contact the seller, never try to screw up the deal for anyone, as that's not my style. Now one of these deals pops up locally, I am the first to respond, and soon after receive an email and then a phone call. I then get to find out how several people *from all over the country*
-have tried to buy the lot for a discounted price
-offered slightly more than the local guys on a select few items
-told the seller not to accept under x dollars for x item no matter what*
-told her to hold a silent auction
Who are you people? *This is the one that really gets me. Who are you to say what the bottom price on any item is without seeing it in person, and what's your motivation for doing so? You good Samaritans should identify yourselves so I can send you your just reward. What a fucking joke. At least I had an insider stop and inspect the goods. He told me straight out that these machines all stink like dog shit and cat piss, were filthy, needed repairs and weren't worth nearly what people were 'bidding' for them. That gives me some consolation.
Last I heard from the 'auctioneer' - she was going to put a price list toegther and get back to me - after not hearing anything for several days I now discover why - silent fucking auction? Give me a break...
Could it have had something to do with me wanting to actually inspect a few things closer before making an offer? Or the fact that even from the 'typical pics' I was sent I noticed some issues? Combined with what Phet stated above, I guess this whole thing was a waste of time for a lot of us... and even if I was able to check it out and make a fair offer I'm sure some 'local' from 400+ miles away would have 'advised' our now auctioneer to decline... thanks a lot!
She was, that is, until being contacted by the usual sour grape deal busters and whiny whistle-blowing fuckfags lurking around every KLOV Korner. I just wanted one machine, just one. I wasn't being greedy, or low-balling or bad-mouthing or any of that shit. Just pisses me off is all. Maybe she made it all up to get higher offers? I highly doubt it though. Fuck you Fun House guy.
I dont want to mislead anyone about the silent auction thing - read ahead:
I got an email saying, that they have a bid on the machine (1500) and anyone willing to bid higher gets it by certain date (think it was yesterday). Thats what i call a silent auction (sorry if i am using it the wrong way). Seems fair to me - if anyone wants to beat that price, so be it. Wonder why the rest of the group didnt get that mail?
I set my price lower based on the pics. Heck i saw a FH for 1400 in much better shape last week and passed.
Whoever got it, best of luck wif it. Thanks. I know i will find one someday.... (saw a nice one yesterday that i am thinking over).
She went from personally dealing with me to adding me to the mass mailing queue.
Yeah I got the same email. 3-4 days after I spoke with her on the phone. She went from personally dealing with me to adding me to the mass mailing queue. Again, all things being equal and my frustrations aside, these items were for sale to the public no matter where you live. I have no problem with that. It's the people giving her 'savvy seller's advice' that piss me off. She sells real estate and people's personal property for a living. Pretty sure she didn't need advice from a bunch of fat-assed armchair sellers. But thanks for your concerns.
I have to give all of you guys that backstabbed and pissed all over each other
