Do these use the same connectors/pinouts as the normal 19" monitors usually found in Space Invaders.

My SI is at a buddy's house and I had him hook up a 23" for testing, and he's getting this (he sent me pics):

I don't know if he just needs to turn down the brightness, whether the video input pinout is different, whether the sync requirement is different, etc.

Anyone got a suggestion?

The pinout for the XM501 and XM701 are the same, and I beleive the WG19v1001 and the 23" version all share the same pinout. That said, I hooked a BiPlane boardset that worked on a xm501 (19") to an XM701 (23") and it looked much like the pictures you posted. It could simply be a coincidence, and my xm701 may need some work.

While I know the pinout should be the same - some monitors have audio whereas others don't (even though I think the pinout is the same for both). I had an issue trying a supposedly working Motorola in my Atari Pinball that originally had a wells, even though the video wires (only 2) were correct. Unless its a voltage thing or something - it actually looked like what you're picturing. I never bothered investigating.

Took the tube out of the moto, swapped it to my Wells chassis and all was good again.

Looks like horizontal tearing to me. Adjust the horizontal hold. Different monitor chassis, different timing settings.

I have swapped many different raster black & white monitors with each other.....Motorola's, Wells-Gardner's, TEC's.....19"ers with 23"ers. They are all pinned out the same....even the ones with audio amps/external 5VDC regulators. I do have to make adjustments....as mentioned....particularly with the horizontal osicilator.

Well, I was down near him today so I stopped in and checked it out. ID'd as a 22V1001. He was going to try a cap kit. I concurred. He had to call me once to find out how to replace a 150uF cap if he didn't have any. I told him to put a 100uF and 47uF in parallel. He got it all finished and sent me this pic:

Hmm. How much do these typically sell for?
