I have a Space Encounters that works pretty well. I had re-capped the monitor and it looks as good as a 23" black and white could I guess. Isse I have is after it warms up a bit, I get this horizontal dark band that slowly moves up the screen repeatedly. I probably takes a couple minutes to go from bottom to top and is about 2" thick. The bottom is close to black, then fades to normal to the top of the band.

The only cap I have not replaced on the monitor is the multi-cap, and not sure if that one would cause this effect if bad. Power pcb has been recapped except for the 2 larger caps on the power board (20,000uf, and 6000uf). So not sure if this sounds like a cap issue, and if so more likely the power board or monitor?

Yeah - that's a classic symptom of a failing filter cap in the power supply. Replace that multi-cap. It's just four separate caps in one package, you can replace it with individual capacitors. Also, you can round up the values to the next most common sizes, 800uf to 820uf, 200uf to 220 uf, and 20uf to 22uf.

Sounds good... I found an 820 on digikey, but wrote the post out after not finding a 200uf cap and didn't think of just going 220... Doh!
