Just capped a monitor that had fold-over and now the picture shows up only in the center of the screen and when adjusted will only get 3 to four inches wide. It looks like a good picture other than it won't expand to fit the screen. The picture runs the whole lenght of the monitor but as I said it is only in the middle of the screen.

I tested both transistors for the vertical and they tested fine. Any other suggestions as to what I might check?

It looks like this it won't get any bigger with adjustment only will go smaller.

I finally got back to this. I desolder both transistors and tested them with the meter and they tested fine. I soldered them back in and tried the Monitor and I still have the same problem. When testing the transistors in circuit they don't test right. Does that matter?

This time I used a DK Jr. board to test it. I notice that the shrunken picture looks just about normal on the left side of the picture and progressively gets more shrunken as you move to the right.

Any other ideas of what I might check?

Did you double check the caps?....maybe a wrong value in the wrong spot.....or one installed backwards.

I would more check bad solder pads / lifts from at your new cap locations..

double check for possible cap leg migration to a trace it shouldn't be married to.

It was the right cap in the wrong spot. At C410 there are four solder pads , two + and two minus. I used the wrong ones. Once i soldered the cap in the right spot it worked . Thanks for the help.
