I just read on FB that 2084 decided not to renew their lease. I'm super bummed - my daughter and I love that place.

I can imagine how much work is involved in the maintenance and upkeep of the games and facilities. You guys have families and lives outside and it's probably taking an overwhelming toll.

Other than Kalan selling a couple of pins, I haven't seen any news on a final event. I'm sure I speak for others when I say that we'd love to line your guys' pockets for one last blowout as a thank-you for everything you've done. It'll make the closure just a tad sweeter for you guys.

Please let us know and thank you very much for all of your time, effort, and expertise!

Bummer, I always to wanted to go make it out there.

Does anyone know when the last day is? I don't TraceBook anymore.

Heard something about this earlier today.
Kind of a bummer.
I really enjoyed going there when I go to visit my family in OC.

It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun also. Wouldn't trade the experiences for the world.

2084 was never intended to be public starting out, but just ended up that way. We met a lot of great people, have a bunch of good memories as a result. It really shows how loved arcades still are to this day. 2084 had a special vibe that people really responded to, it wasn't widely advertised, sort of everyone's "secret". We had everyone's favorites, as well as some rare titles too for everyone to play. Games are going back into our collections and it'll be nice to get back into restores again. Unfortunately, we don't have any plans for future events.

Good things have to come to end end at some time or another, but we'll always be around. Who knows? Maybe we'll give it another shot down the road.

Damn sad I missed it, but thanks for running it as long as you did.

Visited twice.....got pics and video.....2084 will live forever in our hearts and on the net.

I absolutely loved 2084 and enjoyed the speak easy vibe - especially when taking friends there. I discovered so many classic there that I never had a chance to play before. I'll always compare every arcade going forward to 2084. Sad to see it go.

Well, poop. Found out via text today that I'll never get to experience it. :(

Ah this is definitely a bummer, but understandable considering how much work was put into it. My girlfriend and I used to go here at least once a month whenever events were held and we had an absolute blast each and every time. There were so many good games 2084 introduced me to and it was a real treat to be able to experience them in a well maintained working condition. Thanks for all the good times guys!

:( I guess I should have taken a short vacation last year to get down there when Kalan invited me during Grinkfest 3 to come visit. I really like my job but it's too tough to get enough time off of work sometimes.

We had a great time playing against 2084 at Battle of the Arcades back in April. They put together a very talented team. I really hope if BOTA happens again that they can still find a way to participate.
