2017 Year End Donation Drive - Donations Matched - Tax Deductable - Fruit Symbols
Please consider further supporting your hobby today and leveraging matching donor funds available!
Earn a 2017 donor badge on the forums and fruit symbols. Donations will be tax deductible eligible as the charity is a 501(c)3 non-profit.
Until the end of the year (5 more days), I'll match all donations to the International Arcade Museum Library made via PayPal donation (no practical limit). In fact I'm not only going to match all donations from December 25 through the end of the year, but also all donations of $10 or more retroactively from December 1, 2017 through the 24th!
The deduction for charitable contributions is unchanged in the tax overhaul. Apparently, you'll still need to itemize to claim it, and that's a much higher bar with the nearly doubled standard deduction. Plus there are other changes coming, particularly if you live in a high-tax state.
As such, there is likely no better time to donate to the International Arcade Museum Library (and to any other charities you care about).
The charity has done a good job of being cash frugal so far and built a little war chest as we look to working on a number of special projects. We really wanted to start one of these projects (a bronze age video game documentation scanning project) earlier this month, but agreed to put it off so that the main site (without use of donor funds) could work to play catch-up on the main game encyclopedia.

When this process is done, the charity will likely have use of this contractor (and/or others) to focus on its projects. The Library has over $100,000 in reserves at the moment, so there are a lot of great possibilities.
Donations can be made (and more information is available) on this page: http://library.arcade-museum.com/
$10 to $19
$20 to $49
$50 to $99
$100 to $249
$250 to $499
$500 to $99
$1,000 to $4,999
$5,000+
Since this is our officially supported charity, there are forum benefits available to donors: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=198309
We look forward to a great 2018.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays,
Greg
