Silver, we have 3 votes all on different machines
Bronze, no one submitted games.
Pinball, 1 game submitted & we have a winner.
I will extend voting due to lack of submissions & we need a tiebreaker til Friday the 30th and post winners on the 31st.

I forgot to submit links to my restoration threads. Also, how do we vote? PM you?

Are you saying you only got like 5 votes total? That's pretty sad. But I'll admit that I didn't vote because I'm confused how it works. Perhaps you can recap the rules and where we can find all the submissions?

I started to read through this thread to figure it out but it's loooooong.

I'm not against multiples either, but so far we are a little divided about it.
About the Gold-Silver-Bronze.
How about:
Gold-best tear down and complete restoration of a committed game.
Silver-best restoration of a game that is a conversion restored back to original.
Bronze-best restoration where it only needs minor repairs re: capkit, repair ps, touch up cabinet etc...
Pinball- Best overall restoration that is documented in 2011.

Yeah, it did get to be a long thread with different ideas on how to run it, hopefully we can keep it simple for next year. Anyway, I thought the easiest way to run it was PM your votes to me. We had 3 different categories, best tear down, conversion back to original & minor repair, that no one sent in a submission for. One submission was sent for best pinball, so that catagory is closed.
I'll make a list of all games that were submitted.

Truly, as good as many of these restorations are, no one apporached the level of detail - either documenting the process or actually doing the work - as the Star Trek sitdown thread. Especially considering what monstrous pieces of shit those Sega vector games are to begin with.

No offense to the wizardry that Phet and others work on various cabinets but DAMN the ST looks amazing.

Here is the list of games submitted on this thread:
Gold:
Rampage - Phetishboy
Nintendo PC10 - Phetishboy
Moon Patrol - Spyrodon
Return of the Jedi - Jedidentist
Star Trek captains chair - Zitt
Mario Bros from Klax - Bongoben
Peter Packrat from Road Blasters - Arcadenut

Silver:
Multi Williams - OldtimeToys
Wizard of Wor - Wolfinator
Sinistar - Prok
Burgertime - dave2236

Bronze:
None

Pinball:
Charlies Angels - Prok

PM your votes to me before Friday the 30th.

Also, send me any comments as to make this easier in 2012 as I plan on doing this annually.

Thanks, that helps a lot.....maybe copy all that into the very top post in the thread for easy reference. And if links are available then it woud help also. Thanks for doing this!

I'd lose the powderpuff bronze category and have a category for best conversions. My Vs. to Pc-10, Arcadenut's Peter Packrat from Road Blasters and Ben's Klax to Mario Bros fall into that one. I mean 'restore' means to bring back to as close to original as possible. Klax to Mario Bros? Not a restoration.

Done, edited the 1st post, I'll add links for next years competition.
Thanks for the comment, I want to do this annually.

Last call to vote,
The restoration finalists are edited to the first post in this thread.
Simply PM your vote for favorite restoration to me.
I'll announce winners tomorrow evening, Dec 31st.

Congrats Zitt, a ton of work went into that restoration and it shows! :D

Yes ... a ton of work and love has gone into that Captain's Chair.

Thanks for the recongition. :)

Be sure to look for it at Texas Pinball Festival in 2012.

I'm not sure what I have on tap for 2012... but I have several projects in the wings.

Mort - thanks for the work in running this competition. I appreciate it.
