Hi all,
I was checking out VEVO on my iPad in Ottawa, and noticed they had a 2011 Canadian "Year in Review" for music. I watched several of the videos, and was surprised to find two that featured an arcade theme front and centre. Yes, I'm out of the loop when it comes to video consumption, so some of you may already have seen these (my apologies):
Track: Big Wheels
Group: Down With Webster

Track: I Wanna Dance With Somebody
Group: These Kids Wear Crowns
http://vevo.ly/maxZMu
Again, these tracks may not be your cup of tea, but the VG theme is there!
Interesting side note: the new retro "baseline" is the NES, circa 1984-85
With arcade-skeptical friends, I always get a kick telling them "I'm giving my girls the ability to interpret the world around them," and sometimes you don't have to look far to see these pop-cultural reference points with a retro spin.
Oh, and just because it's a video steeped in 1979 and features a TRS-80 and has a Hall & Oates vib (yes, my mom played H&O when I was growing up):
Track: Lazy Susan
Group: Sweet Thing

Any other 2011 music videos and video game references?
