2011 - February - Last Call - Possible Part Outs and/or Dumped Cabinets.

2011 - February - Last Call - Possible Part Outs and/or Dumped Cabinets.

Getting ready to smash an original dedicated cabinet you don't have space for? Why not offer it up for free if you can't sell it? It might be a tad more hassle then burning or dumping, but it could be of use to another collector and might actually be restored.

Thinking of parting out a machine worth more dead than alive? Please let us know that, and ask a price in between. Parting out a game is work, and it is nice to help some one else save a game if they can.

* Don't post the for sale thread here. Create a thread if you haven't already and link to it from here.

* Most importantly, after posting in this thread, please give potential saviors one at least 2 weeks (if not longer) to propose an adoption before continuing with the part out.

* Edit your message in this thread and add a comment if the game is no longer available.

* Participation in this thread is voluntary, but encouraged.

* Posts should be limited to directly to the topic at hand. I'm not looking for any political statements, arcade terrorism, or civil liberty speaches. If you can't play nice in this thread, don't post in it.

Background:

This thread is a result of an idea that has been brewing for a few months, and I thought I'd give it a try.

The idea is that (1) sometimes perfectly good games get parted out when they should (or could depending on your perspective) be saved, and (2) sometimes empty cabinets get dumped or destroyed that should or could be saved.

Sometimes a machine is perceived to be worth more dead than alive (parts worth more than the whole), or maybe a cabinet is damaged and the cost of repair might be more than the machine is worth to many (but not all) collectors. That's ok, as someone might be interested in the machine anyway, especially if its rare or historic.

There are so many threads in this forum section that occasionally some 'last call' posts get missed by potential game saviors.

Update: January's thread seemed to work well. I just received a pm this morning thanking me for the thread and lettting me know that the writer saved a Springer cabinet that was offered up in it...

I've got two pin cabs at the back door waiting clear weather to haul to the dump. If anyone wants them, PLEASE come get them. Hate to see them dumped.

Mata Hari - pretty nice cab, well worth the effort to pickup 7-8/10
Xenon - 5/10 repainted in places, definitely solid and restorable

Located in Johnson City, TN.

Cyberball

I have an empty cyberball cabinet that I don't need. Free to whoever wants to come and get it. I can post pics if necessary. Cab is solid, no water damage.

Thanks

I have an empty Midway cabinet. It was a MAX RPM at one point, and the boards are still in it, untested. I have the harness that came in it as well, but I can't confirm it is complete. It appears to be mostly there. I got the machine in pieces.

The only thing I removed was the ballast and coin door. It has the top CP for the shifters, and a piece of wood modified for a single happ steering wheel.

Has the monitor monunting brackets, and I will include the light fixture, although like I said, I removed the ballast.

It has two older looking power supplies, both with ISOs, although I will probably remove the one that doesen't appear original.

Pics on request, but it's burried in my garage right now. I will dig it out for anyone who wants it. Free.

Pop a Slot redemption. I pulled the monitor, power supply and back door. Still has boards (Might be good for chips), Big Blue amd transformer. Game was working before I parted it out. It's getting cut up this week and any parts not wanted thrown away or scrapped for metal.

The Cyberball is a dual monitor version. Tighe, I can get it to Amsterdam is that is close enough for you. It won't be for a little bit, but if you really want it I can figure something out.
