Yeah it's a year in advance, but it's fresh in peoples' minds, so let's discuss carpooling to CAX for 2011.

I'll try to post up the groups by location in the first posting to keep it somewhat organized.

I'm also posting what days for going up and coming back by first letter of the day.
CAX 2011 is July 9th and 10th (Saturday-Sunday).

I should mention before this goes too far, I take both Friday and Monday off so getting up there and back is not a fire drill operation with work and all. I'm too old to make those crazy turn-around trips anymore. :)

I figured I would take some vacation days as well. Currently, I'm on a 10 days on, 4 days off schedule, so it may work out pretty well depending on the exact date next year.

Edit: looks like I'll have to take off 2 days if I stay on my current schedule, so that shouldn't be too bad.

I like the way you travel ;)

I would like to try to make it next year and would do the same friday and monday off so no hurry. Hey waht did rooms run for you guys?

TobyOcc Temecula So. Cal.

So far, the so-cal people looks like this would be the fastest way to drive with the 4 of us interested.

So-Cal route

If we decided to take the 101, we'd go right past Mylstar also if he were interested in joining the pool. Maybe a minivan or something would be best to take up there at this point.

Going up 101 I would guess probably add 1+ hours to your trip..

Why not rent a box truck and bring up 16-20 games and get involved..

I would definitely be willing to bring my video action table and virtua fighter 3 showcase (same as pictured on the virtua fighter 3 the new standard flyer at arcadeflyers.com) if I were able to borrow or rent a truck. Maybe my Cinematronics world series the season as well after I shotgun the monitor. But, Renting a box truck seems a bit on the pricey side, and I would just be able to have one other person to carpool with comfortably.

The 101 is a better route for SoCal ppl from Agoura northward.... If I take the 5 from Ventura, it's another 40+ minutes just to get to the five vs hopping on the 101. The 101 is nice cuz it drops you off right near the hotel.

Advice...don't take Hwy 33 to the 166 toward Santa Maria to avoid Santa Barbara freeway traffic. It's a nice scenic very mountainous drive probably great for a sportscar or motorcycle....sucks for a truck hauling games AND adds another hour.
