UPDATE! 2010 Rochester Gameroom Show April 10th & 11th

The 2010 Rochester Gameroom Show dates are April 10th and 11th. Last year we did not have a show. This year we are back and have moved the show to Marketplace Mall in Henrietta. This will be our 4th Rochester show and I am really excited to anounce that attendance to this show will be absolutely FREE!

Our websites are being updated with additional information:

The Rochester Staff would like to thank everyone who helped make our past shows a success and we look forward to making this years show even better :)

I am working on trying to get a pin or a vid for a promo. I would have to do some research on jukes as they are not really my thing and I don't have any cd jukebox knowledge. I am talking with a couple vendors about some possible freebees to give away to the first couple hundred people to visit the promo booth. The problem I am having is how to limit the promos to one per person. The show is free so, there is no ticket table to give out stuff as people pay. I was thinking of maybe putting a coupon in the newspaper ads we run or perhaps something printable via email or on the website.

Rochester Game Room Show is FREE. Here is why...

Questions and answers about 2010 Rochester Game Room Show on April 10-11

What is the admission cost for this year's Rochester Game Room Show?
This year's event is free. We want to promote our event and we want everyone to attend. Even though our shows have always been well attended, we have received emails and calls in the past from people who wish they could come but the cost to bring their families is too much. We are really making this a show where the vendors and anyone selling games will do well.

Where is the new location for this year's show?
The Rochester Game Room Show will be at the Marketplace Mall in Henrietta, NY. It is two minutes off the NYS Thruway. Their website is: http://www.themarketplacemall.com/ .

Is it a mall that is currently operational?
Yes, the Marketplace Mall is an upscale mall that is filled with open stores and has tremendous shopping traffic, especially on the weekends. They average 50,000 shoppers on any given weekend.

Where is the Game Show located within the mall?
We will have a storefront for the free-play games. Any game(s) that you bring will be located in there. In this store will be our sign-up area, security table and giveaway tables.

Will my game(s) be safe?
Yes, after the show is over, the doors of the store will be locked and we will have two off-duty police officers on hand during the show hours (as we have in the past). Also, the mall employs its own security (no, not Paul Blart) who be in the mall during the evening.

How about the vendors?
The vendors will be located just outside the free-play area in the Mall common area. This will ensure maximum exposure and everyone who comes to the show will have to pass through the vending area.

Please check our website: www.rochestergameroomshow.com to sign up to receive updates on this year's show.

People who want to sell games, please let us know. This will be a great sellers market with many first time buyers as well as collectors.

I'm cool with a pin - how about a Whirlwind?

Havok........... Heard John is bringing his and donating it. Maybe it's all yours! ;)

I'll save him the effort and pick it up now!

:D

(If I did get it, I'd HAVE to do a youtube video with that special high note voice our beloved blkdog is so fond of using...)

No one is getting my Whirlwind. I love it too much. That one will be with me forever. :)

I need to make a new video soon.... "In the basement!!!" LOL

Free Pinball Coupons Here

Chad............ You guys are certainly putting alot of effort into this show! I thank you, in advance! I really was bummed that there wasnt a show, last year. I cant wait to see what else you guys do to promote this, at the Mall!

We should post what identifying clothes we'll be wearing so we can find each other. We need to show those CAX dorks how to take a group photo!

:)

My son and I are definitely going to be there. I'll be in a super bright yellow Nintendo/Mario shirt and my son will surely be in one of his "many" video game shirts. :)

Bringing back this thread from the dead!

Chad, are there plans in place for a Rochester 2012 show? Been two years! I know that, Jeff F. , has very generously kept the annual event going, but I'm sure there are some vids and pins, even he'd like to purchase! Just a thought.

So there will be a pinball show in Buffalo in 2012...

I've confirmed with the guy running it yesterday that he'd be happy to extend it to the arcade guys.

Obviously I'll keep the forum posted as it materializes

Yeah... um no(thanks for the compliment though!). Our little get together is like a one chicken wing appetizer compared to the actual shows. :)

The family and I love going to these things so hopefully Rochester will be back some day. We really did enjoy going to the show inside a functioning mall. Made it easier for the girls to want to come along. :D

And Buffalo eh? That's not too much farther a drive than Rochester so we'll probably end up going to that too.
