Here is the first of many videos from our trip to Videotopia. They aren't anything fancy and I didn't even edit them so I'm sure you'll notice some stupid comments made by me. :p Hopefully they'll show enough to be interesting to some.

I'm converting the rest of the videos tonight so I should be posting more tomorrow. I'll update this first post when I do add more.

Yeah, I loved Videotopia when I went to it in San Antonio. If I recall correctly, they had an entire row of (about 5 or 6) computer spaces. Not to mention some rarities like Quantum, Warrior, and MC Cockpit.

Yes... VT is really cool. I went to a few different locations they were showing in. Philly back in 1997, DC in 1998, Dallas in 1998, and Baltimore in 1999. All were great shows. I remember they were running 4 Tempest machines all lined up when they were in Baltimore. Very cool stuff.

Looks like Star Trek doesn't save highscores - I got 250,000 on that puppy, which is slightly better than my Mame cabinet highscore. I've got to get one of those Captain's Chairs!

You didn't happen to snag that $200 upright Star Trek did you havok? I hmmm'd and huhhh'd a bit too much and missed out by 1 person... which I'm both happy and sad about. ;)

I got to thinking that this would have been perfect to mate with the $100 captain's chair carcass that chas010 was selling last month.

Nope - wasn't me. I pased on it for the time being. Chas010 ended up ebaying the chair and got $300 for it. I held out because it didn't have the canopy and I was working on another deal (which fell through!) but that's ok as I have a deal in the works for both a pin and a Cd jukebox, which can tide me over for a while.

thanks for posting the vids, I wish Videotopia would make a stop down here in South Fl.

No problem and thanks for the kind words. :beerchug:

I still have to change over the rest of the non-HD videos and then there is maybe 3 or 4 more I have to upload. I'll be sure to update the thread once I get it done.

Added a few more videos listed below and I re-sampled all the other videos to HD. Only two videos left to convert to DivX and upload... an ESB Cockpit and a Gorf early production/prototype.

i remember reading in a video game book (can't remember the title, by john sellers) that they once bought a crated EDOT that got dropped off the truck and totally ruined the cab.

I went today to the SMOP and Videotopia was the bomb! My kids loved it! All Jeff's pics are great! I would encourage anyone within 3 hours drive, to hit it up. I was pleased.

It's funny... we are on vacation in Elysburg, PA at Knoebels Amusement Park this week and while in the arcade my son asks, "Dad, we are still going to Videotopia again before it leaves right?". :D God Bless this boy!!! :)

I was just at Knoebels last weekend! The arcade is nothing, but the rides and food is a great piece of america. one of the last family owned and operated amusement parks we have.

Yep, 100% agreed. This is our 4th of 5th year coming and our 3rd year in a row renting a cottage and staying the week. There is nothing like being able to sleep a few hundred feet away from a roller coaster(one of the top 10 in the USA btw) and their giant Sklooosh water ride.

Did you notice the marquees hanging in the arcade? That's as close as they come to any classics unfortunately. :( But they do have a few pinballs including a Theatre of Magic... which Daddy just loves to play. :D

The kids love the redemption games to be honest though... they get enough arcade playing at home so these are fun. That, and they like to save tickets all week long and then cash them in on Saturday.

Last year I won a Nintendo DS on that Stacker game. Probably put ~$30 in trying so it was a good deal.

Knoebels = THE FUN!!!
