I recently purchased a dedicated cab 2005 GT with the green board in it.. with all power hooked up my monitor is black and makes a clicking noise. I have light on the board and everywhere else on the game but I do not hear any sound.. any ideas of what could fix these issues? Thanks community

Highly recommend following Ed12's trouble shooting steps. He'll walk you through trouble shooting it in a bunch of posts, but can usually get you to a diagnosis if you are patient. He's helped me a ton already with my GT Complete.

The clicking sound your monitor makes sounds like its likely in HV shutdown. Does it have neck glow? Can you hear the game playing blind?

model monitor would be helpful. I think the 2005s were still using K7500s, which I suppose is a bit easier to handle than those silly tri-syncs they later came with.

The monito is an A63AFW36X... it doesn't have neck glow.. I'm very patient and will try anything and everything to get this puppy working. I appreciate the help guys

that's the tube. that's not the monitor chassis. take a picture of the circuit board on it.

Does this help?

K7500. as I predicted.

congratulations, you've got the easiest most difficult monitor to fix. :)

Also I can't hear the game playing at all so would just the monitor not working have to do with that aspect of the game?

that monitor will still work even if it has no signal. so I highly doubt the two issues are related. I don't know the inner workings of GT but there's several people who know a lot about them. I think pcjohn in particular. the video cards fail a lot on them, and the power supplies and hard drives can crap out too.

i read up on your reply
what i need to know (very important) is
is there 3 blinking leds
1=red by the hard drive ide connector
1=status 1 (by the u15 game eprom ) egale will be printed on the top
1=status 2 (by u53) game security chip in your case gt4-usa-u or like that

ed

I'll get you a better idea of the LEDs when I get home from work today.. should have an update around 4:30pm eastern time

Ok currently on the board I have a 3 solid red leds lit. Those are under D76,D77,and D78.. I also have a solid green led light which is D20.. and then there's one other Red led under D2.. all of them are solid and not blinking

ok thats what i asking for
forget the three in a row they are your modem
the 1's i listed i needed to know
what i need you to first to check your power sullpy for proper power
if green board ? it is +5 +12 volts only
if a red board ? it is at the atx header and u will beable to measure +5/+12/+3.3
we need to know they are present
also make sure your harddrive is hooked up at this time.
reboot to do the measurment

Ok so I checked power and adjusted things to proper VOltage.. I hear sound and the game playing but still no picture

do u have a lcd display u can use for testing ?
if so i will explain the dip s/w u need turned on so it will range
if u hear sound/game play then the 3 leds are blinking i was speaking of

sounds like he needs to have his 7500 rebuilt. If your not familiar with monitor repair the 7500 is not one I would cut my teeth on. Contact one of the several people here that do these repairs full time and have it fixed for you.
Security101, ArcadeBuffett are 2 I know work on these. Chad at arcadecup may also.

As a note, this monitor is not a "standard" K7000 series. It is in the K7400 7500 series only, and parts from the 7000 are not the same as the 7500.
And as the 7500 is EGA only if you do not have the TPG or some way of getting the proper signal to it you will not know if it is working 100% (Unless you risk your board in the game)
